PM Modi Celebrates Special Diwali as Lord Ram Marks First Festival in Ayodhya Temple
Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlights the significance of Diwali 2023 as Lord Ram celebrates for the first time in the Ayodhya temple.
The court also directed the government to allocate land in Ayodhya for a mosque.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked that this year’s Diwali is "special" because, for the first time in 500 years, Lord Ram will celebrate the festival in the Ayodhya temple. He also extended his wishes to the nation on the occasion of Dhanteras.
"I send my heartfelt greetings to all citizens on Dhanteras. In just two days, we will celebrate Diwali, which is particularly special this year. After 500 years, Lord Ram is seated in his grand temple in Ayodhya, and this will be the first Diwali celebrated with him there. We are all fortunate to witness such a significant occasion," PM Modi said via video conference.
In 2019, the Supreme Court allowed the construction of the temple by ruling that the disputed land be granted to the Hindu side.
The court also directed the government to allocate land in Ayodhya for a mosque.
The Ayodhya Ram Temple was inaugurated in January this year, making this the first Diwali celebrated in the temple.
PM Modi led the grand consecration ceremony attended by numerous dignitaries, including business leaders, Bollywood stars, and cricketers. He also congratulated the youth receiving appointment letters under the Rozgar Mela.
"In this festive atmosphere, on this auspicious day, appointment letters for government jobs are being given to 51,000 youth at the employment fair. I extend my best wishes to all of you. The process of providing permanent government jobs to millions of young people in the Government of India is ongoing, and many have received appointment letters in BJP and NDA-ruled states," the Prime Minister stated.
He also acknowledged the youth who received appointment letters from the Haryana government.
"Our government has a unique identity in Haryana. The government there provides jobs effectively and without unnecessary costs. Today, I specifically congratulate the youth who received appointment letters from the Haryana Government. It's also noteworthy that the newly formed government in Haryana has made a commendable start by creating employment opportunities for around 26,000 youths," PM Modi added.
